Barcelona Social Summer

The Pere Tarrés Faculty of Social Education and Social Work of the Ramon Llull University organises the Barcelona Social Summer (BSS) during the first two weeks of July 2025, an international summer school course addressed to teachers, researchers and/or students from different Higher Education Institutions and social intervention professionals from around the world interested in acquiring a better knowledge of the social challenges and trends in the European Union from a social policy perspective.

The Barcelona Social Summer offers the possibility of deepening and understanding the social reality of the European Union from multiple perspectives:

  • The programme includes subjects related to social policies, interculturality, migrations, vulnerable groups, and many other social issues linked to the European social environment.
  • Topics are explained through the experience of social intervention professionals and researchers that draw a clear map of the specific social issue that they explain.
  • The experience includes visits to several social initiatives located in Barcelona, thus allowing participants to consolidate their knowledge of the European social environment and to get to know specific social initiatives that seek to cover multiple social needs.
  • Participants will receive a participation diploma.
  • University students can also ask for a 5 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) academic certificate.
  • The seminars/conferences and visits to social initiatives take place form Monday to Thursday, leaving Friday, Saturday and Sunday free for those that wish to visit Barcelona and other cities.
