The hostel is located at the top of the village of Guardia de Tremp, next to woods and areas suitable for play. There is a very large esplanade directly in front. There is also a municipal swimming pool and an indoor municipal sports court with basketball, indoor football and handball nearby. 

Montsec-Mur is designed to house preschools, primary and secondary schools, leisure centres, groups and sports teams for football, basketball, handball, etc., cultural and religious groups and groups of friends, organisations and families with children. It is located in the upper part of the village of Guàrdia de Tremp. It has rooms for 4 to 10 people, a spacious dining room and several activity rooms.

Routes and itineraries

The village of Guàrdia de Tremp, also known as Guàrdia de Noguera, is located in Pallars Jussà, in the province of Lleida. The train station is 2 km north-east of the municipality. There are some streets that still preserve their medieval origin and nearby are the ruins of the old Guardia Castle and the remains of the Romanesque bridge of Monares. 

The area’s main attraction is the castle of Mur, which is considered one of the most iconic castles in Pallars due to its historical importance and its ship-shaped architecture. It is situated on a hill, 800 metres above sea level. Nearby, we find one of the most outstanding areas of the region, the Mont-rebei gorge, which is located in the mountains of Montsec and allows you to enjoy a spectacular path carved into the rock, ideal for a route on foot or by kayak. 

The hostel’s proximity to the Parc Astronòmic del Montsec (Montsec Astronomical Observatory) makes it an ideal place to discover the mountains and the best night sky in Catalonia. 

Other places to visit are the Salàs Museum Shops, which give guided tours of shops that might have existed in the second half of the 19th century. They are reconstructions of shops such as a grocer’s, barbershop, pharmacy, tobacconist, and café. The Conca Dellà Museum - Cretaceous Park, in Isona, to the south of the Pallars Jussà region, where guided tours of paleontological sites, archaeological remains and historical-artistic buildings are available. This is the setting for an exciting journey through time that allows you to discover a new land that was once occupied by the Romans and long before that it was inhabited by dinosaurs.
