Families and pregnant women in situations of social vulnerability with little or no family network, can suffer emotional instability affecting children and the mother-child bond.
“BATECS” PROJECT
The Pere Tarrés Foundation offers a space for supporting families and pregnant women at risk of social exclusion which they can use to share their doubts, fears and joys about motherhood and their personal situation, supported by other women and social educators.
According to a study carried out by researchers from Imperial College, London, the children of pregnant women who go through emotionally unstable times and/or stress during their pregnancy end up suffering from anxiety.
At the same time, the 15% of children of women who suffer most stress and anxiety are most at risk of suffering from attention deficit and hyperactivity.
